Many of our peer institutions have "Technology/Architecture" groups that help advise the use of technology on their respective campuses. A prime example of this is the Technical Advisory Group at Duke University. The Duke TAG group basis it's function on a set of "Architecture Principles" that help guide technology decisions. Thier principles are very abstract and high level, but they provide more concrete and granular descriptions of the principles if you would like to drill down into them! We would like to explore the idea of having a similar set of principles that could help guide technology decisions both within CIT and across campus. We will begin by investigating this within the context of CIT and then consult with the Bain representatives to get a recommendation on whether or not such an effort should be opened up and considered at the campus level.
