ATA Projects: Architecture Inventory

Description

Links

A recurring task that was suggested by the CIT Cross Divisional Architecture Team (CCDAT) is the quarterly "Architecture Inventory" exercise. This exercise involves the "owners" of core technology components in our overall software architecture to make/update a "three year projection" (quarterly) of the state of support for each component. This involves projecting the release of new technologies as well as the retirement of old ones.

While this information is useful of and by itself, when coupled with information about dependencies between components of the architecture, dependencies between components of the architecture and products/services offered by CIT and dependencies between components of the architecture and projects that CIT is working on, we can provide invaluable information about how products and projects will be affected when proposing changes to our architecture.

Users wishing to view any available reports relative to the architecture inventory data should visit the architecture web site.
